About Eastbourne Archers

Eastbourne Archery Club Badge

Eastbourne Archers are affiliated to, and based at Langney Sports Club.

We shoot on Sundays throughout the year with additional shoots on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Juniors can shoot with seniors but they do also have their own evening during the summer season.

Archery practice is available at most other times.

We include shooting for serious, family, fun and disabled archers.

In winter on alternate Sunday afternoons we shoot indoors at the Hampden Park Sports Centre. On the intervening Sunday mornings we shoot a short round outdoors at LSC. In addition we have a Field shoot at Five Ashes one Sunday a month.

On occasions throughout the year we take part in indoor and outdoor league matches against other clubs, run beginners courses, an Open Day, an Open Longbow and Barebow Tournament and an Open Junior Tournament, plus some novelty shoots and have-a-go events. Members are automatically enrolled as members of the Langney Sports Centre, giving them access to the social activities it offers including a large bar.

Our registered club colours are: Royal Blue shirts with yellow text and club badge; a legitimate alternative to the nationally accepted colours of Lincoln Green and/or White.

The Club is affiliated to Archery GB (also known as the Grand National Archery Society or GNAS), - the National Governing Body for Archery in the UK. This provides us with (among other things) our rules of shooting, basic insurance and a quarterly magazine.

To become a member of our club, applicants must have completed an approved beginners course - this is to comply with standard insurance requirements.

An annual club fee is payable to include membership of both Archery GB (GNAS) and Langney Sports Club.

If you want to know more, e-mail us, or come and watch us shoot at Langney Sports Club Ground - we are at the far end of the football field.
